Tran Thanh announced that the movie Mai will be released in Europe, the US and Canada from March 22. The male director also quoted the introduction of the movie Mai from Deadline: "Mai will be released by 3388 Films in more than 100 theaters across the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, ... on March 22. This is the biggest opening week in North America and Europe for a movie produced by Vietnam, and the first time there will be theater screenings on the same day across two continents."

Tran Thanh's movie "Mai" will be shown in more than 100 theaters in Europe, America and Canada.

“We continue to disrupt the way international films are distributed outside the domestic US market,” Thien A. Pham, founder of 3388 Films, told Deadline. “When we released ‘Bo Gia,’ it changed the industry’s perception of the potential of a Vietnamese film at the US box office.

We released the film in 50 theaters in the US, going against the norm at that time that a Vietnamese film should be shown in no more than 10-18 theaters. Now, with "Mai", we are expanding the boundaries and once again heading into uncharted territories. We have forward-thinking partners who support our belief that it takes time and courage to constantly look for market opportunities and seize and develop them."

Mai is the first film to reach the 500 billion VND mark in Vietnam after less than 4 weeks of release. Along with the revenue of Mrs. Nu's House (475 billion VND) and Bo Gia (427 billion VND), Tran Thanh owns the top 3 films with the highest revenue at the Vietnamese box office.

The film revolves around the life of the female lead named Mai (Phuong Anh Dao), a nearly 40-year-old masseuse who accidentally meets musician Duong (Tuan Tran) and is pursued by him. Lacking self-confidence, Mai does not have the courage to accept the feelings of a guy 7 years her junior.

Compared to the two films "Nha Ba Nu" and "Bo Gia", Tran Thanh's "Mai" received the least mixed reviews. Tran Thanh showed a clear improvement, from the camera angle, the way the scenes were changed to the way the story was told. The film no longer had too many scenes of arguing and "market" dialogue between the characters.

Mai is considered Tran Thanh's best movie ever./.
