The Samurai Theater Tokyo dojo is located in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. It regularly holds lessons and experiences of samurai activities, including trying out Japanese swords. The owner of the dojo, Kazuko Mitsui, said: “Since last year, the number of customers coming to participate in the experience has increased by 150-200%. I think the movie Shogun has helped increase the number of students.”

The historical drama "Shogun" is based on the novel of the same name by writer James Clavell published in 1975. "Shogun" is set in feudal Japan, just before the great war of 1600. With a dramatic plot, eye-catching images, majestic sound and captivating acting, the film "Shogun" is considered the Eastern version of "Game of Thrones".

“As a fan of the actor Hiroyuki Sanada in the series ‘Shogun,’ I was very happy when the series won an Emmy. Thanks to the series, traditional Japanese culture is being revived. I am happy that people around the world are learning about Japanese culture conveyed through the series,” said Japanese sword instructor Gensei Kamide.

Participating in the experience classes at the "Samurai Theater Tokyo" dojo, tourists are taught how to cut reed mats with a Japanese sword like a real samurai. One tourist participating in the experience, Bob Verstaeten (Netherlands), said: "I felt the weight of a sword and the feeling of holding a sword and cutting. Now when I watch the movie Shogun again, the feeling is completely different."

At the 76th Emmy Awards last weekend, "Shogun" became the first non-English language production to win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. With 18 Emmys, "Shogun" also broke the record for the most awards won by a television series in a single season.
