Also attending the Congress were leaders, former leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, leaders of departments and branches of Hau Giang province... along with 240 official delegates, representing political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations and typical individuals in social classes, strata, ethnic groups and religions in the province.
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Mr. Tran Van Chinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hau Giang province said that the congress will carry out 5 key tasks.
That is, the Congress will comprehensively evaluate the achievements and results achieved in the 5 years of implementing the Action Program of the 9th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the same time, review, comment, and deeply evaluate the shortcomings, limitations, and shortcomings along with the causes, especially subjective causes, draw lessons, and propose directions for striving in the next 5 years.
The congress focused on discussing, promoting the spirit of democracy, and contributing ideas to the draft documents of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hau Giang province, term 2024-2029; the draft amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, and the draft new Action Program on building a "self-governing, united, prosperous, and happy" residential area.
The Congress will democratically elect the new Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. At the same time, democratically elect the Delegation to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The Congress will spend time listening to presentations and discussions from groups and individuals, aiming to further clarify the role, functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the unified coordination of actions within the system of the Front and its member organizations; the promotion of democracy, strengthening of supervision and social criticism; and participation in solving practical issues related to people's interests.
The Congress will listen to and thoroughly grasp the directives of the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee on important orientations of the Front's work in the coming time.
“With the spirit of Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development, the Presidium believes that each delegate and the entire Congress will uphold their sense of responsibility to the Party Committee and the people of the province, focus their intelligence on carefully studying the documents and deeply contributing to the action programs, well implementing the contents set forth by the Congress, to be worthy of being the representative of the people, the political foundation of the government, the core organization in the political system, meeting the trust and aspirations of the cadres, party members and people of the province”, Mr. Tran Van Chinh said in the opening speech.

The 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hau Giang province, term 2024-2029, took place over 2 days (August 5 and 6).
On August 5, the Congress held its first working session. At this session, the Congress agreed on 100% of the number of the Congress Presidium consisting of 13 members.
The Congress also approved a summary report on the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province for the 2019-2024 term and the directions, goals, tasks and action program for the 2024-2029 term; a report reviewing the activities of the Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province for the 2019-2024 term; a report summarizing comments on the draft documents of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress, comments on the draft documents of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029; comments on amending the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX.
