On July 8, Mr. Le Quang Hung - Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health - said that by the end of July 7, Phuong Dat General Clinic had not yet provided full information about the case of being accused of "ripping off" patients to the Department of Health .
Therefore, today (July 8), the working group of the Department of Health continued to work at this clinic to clarify the reported information.
At the same time, the working group of the Department of Health will review all implementation of regulations on medical examination and treatment at the clinic.
Meanwhile, Ms. Vu Thi Duyen, clinic manager, said that on the afternoon of July 7, a clinic representative went to the Department of Health to provide information about the incident, but because the agency was busy in a meeting until the end of working hours, they were unable to provide it.
Previously, as reported by Tuoi Tre Online , Facebook account Truong Oanh posted an article "exposing" Phuong Dat General Clinic in Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai. The post was then shared on groups and attracted a lot of attention.
Specifically, on July 5, patient NC (48 years old) came to the clinic and was charged nearly 9 million VND for 2 hours of treatment, the receipt was written in general terms, without specifying the service. The patient had frequent nocturia and painful urination, but the clinic referred him to a male disease.
According to the receipts that this account took a photo of and posted online, the clinic issued 4 receipts to patient NC. Of which, 1 receipt stated the treatment fee was 6.2 million VND; 1 receipt stated the hospital stay fee was 1.2 million VND; the testing fee was 800,000 VND; and the medicine fee was 660,000 VND.
The clinic confirmed that the contents of these receipts were correct, the total amount collected from the patient was nearly 9 million VND.
To clarify the incident, the reporter asked the clinic to provide a specific list of drugs, medical supplies and medical techniques used to treat the patient, but Ms. Duyen refused to provide it, saying that she had already explained it to the Department of Health.
Ms. Duyen also refused to provide information about the patient's condition upon admission, the patient's professional diagnosis and treatment methods. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
