At a bookstore, Ms. Minh Trang and her son, who is about to enter first grade, chose to buy books, notebooks, pens, and rulers according to his preferences. "I just came from the countryside and immediately took my son to the bookstore to buy school supplies. Before that, I bought a backpack and uniform for my son. Today, I went to see what was missing and then supplement it," said Ms. Trang.

Buying 20 notebooks, a set of 7th grade textbooks, and two pencil cases for a total of nearly 2 million VND, Ms. Phuong Uyen (living in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City) said that she reused her backpack and uniform from last year, so shopping for the new school year was a bit easier. If she had to buy everything new like the first year of high school, it would have cost about 5 million VND.

Before the start of the new school year 2024-2025, Ho Chi Minh City has classified school supplies such as notebooks, school bags, backpacks, handbags, school uniforms, school shoes, etc. into 12 groups of goods under the city's Market Stabilization Program. Therefore, these items are always stabilized, with prices 5-10% lower than the market price.

Especially at this time, preparing for the new school year, the program to sell essential goods to students is very necessary.
