On the morning of June 17, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) launched the Handbook on digital transformation for traditional market traders, with the aim of helping small businesses in the market to keep pace with the digital economy. The document is released online at: https://sotay.tieuthuongvietnam.vn.

In the context of strong digital transformation, the small traders in traditional markets (a disadvantaged group in the digital environment) are facing many difficulties in adapting. The handbook was created to address this gap, by providing practical, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-follow knowledge.

Not academic or dry, the document is written in a friendly tone, led by real-life stories: from livestreaming to sell vegetables to attract a large audience, to the reason why goods must be packaged carefully, or how to receive money transfers quickly via e-wallet. Small traders can follow these instructions right away with just a phone in hand.

In addition, the handbook also introduces how to sell on TikTok Shop, Shopee, Zalo OA, guides on using chatbots, creating QR codes for payments, using simple management software, and even building a personal brand for small businesses. Seemingly unfamiliar concepts such as "AI" or "free software" are also explained in an easy-to-understand and visually illustrated way.

Not stopping at the PDF version, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also deployed podcast and short video versions on social networking platforms, including TikTok, so that small businesses can "learn digital transformation" anywhere, anytime.

The handbook is part of the Digital Transformation Program for Traditional Market Traders led by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, aiming to improve the business capacity of millions of individual households. Through models such as livestream, cashless payment, online promotion, the program helps people save costs, reach more customers and increase profits.
