Sa Pa charges entrance fee to Fansipan peak and Cat Cat waterfall

On December 29, a representative of the People's Committee of Sa Pa town said that from January 1, 2025, the locality will collect fees from tourists visiting the Fansipan peak area and Cat Cat waterfall.

According to the notice dated December 26 from the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, from January 1, 2025, the locality will collect fees from organizations and individuals (including Vietnamese and foreign visitors) visiting the Fansipan peak area (Hoang Lien commune, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai ) and Cat Cat waterfall. All organizations and individuals must pay fees to visit scenic spots.

The fee for people 16 years old and over is 10,000 VND/person/trip, children from 6 years old to under 16 years old is 5,000 VND/person/trip.

The subjects exempted from paying entrance fees are children aged 6 and under, people with severe disabilities, leaders of the Party and State, special guests with opinions from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, students of primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools in the town on extracurricular tours...

The subjects who are entitled to a 50% reduction in entrance fees are those who enjoy preferential policies on cultural enjoyment according to regulations of the Prime Minister , the elderly, and people with severe disabilities according to the law...

Sa Pa Town People's Committee will deploy 3 toll stations with surveillance cameras and 4 barriers. Specifically, install 1 toll station with surveillance cameras and barriers on the sidewalk in front of the gate of Sun Plaza building and install fences around Sun Plaza building; 1 toll station with surveillance cameras and barriers on Nguyen Chi Thanh street in front of the ticket gate to Fansipan cable car station; install 70m of fence on Nguyen Chi Thanh street in the area where the toll station is located; 1 toll station with surveillance cameras and barriers for additional ticket sales and ticket control at the stairs leading to Fansipan peak (right); install 1 ticket control barrier at the stairs leading to Fansipan peak (left).

The two famous scenic spots with the above-mentioned entrance fee are located in the tourist complex that has been assigned to investors, Fansipan Cable Car Tourism Service Company Limited and Cat Cat Tourism Company Limited for management. These businesses are also collecting service tickets from visitors when using the infrastructure and services invested by the businesses.
