According to a report by market research firm Omdia, Samsung will reach 30.1% of the global TV market share in 2023, cementing its position as the industry leader since 2006. This success is largely due to its strategy of focusing on TV models in the premium and large-screen TV segments, led by QLED and OLED TV models.

Since its launch in 2017, Samsung's QLED TV lineup, including the latest Neo QLED model, has surpassed 40 million units in sales. In 2023 alone, QLED sales reached 8.31 million units.

Samsung maintained its leadership in the premium TV segment – particularly TVs 75 inches and larger and priced at $2,500 or more. The company recorded an impressive 60.5% market share for TVs priced above $2,500, and 33.9% market share for TVs over 75 inches. Additionally, thanks to strong sales of its 98-inch models, Samsung also continued to lead the segment of TVs over 90 inches with 30.4% market share.

Building on its success in the premium TV and large-screen markets, Samsung has also made significant strides in the OLED TV segment. Samsung’s OLED TV lineup recorded 1.01 million units sold in 2023, accounting for 22.7% of the market share. With the expansion of its OLED lineup in 2024, Samsung’s market share in the OLED segment is expected to grow strongly this year.

“This is a testament to the trust and loyalty our customers place in Samsung,” said SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to continuously advancing the industry, creating products with superior picture quality that deliver meaningful and valuable experiences to our users.”
