The project was launched on December 8, 2024, with Vinhomes Ha Tinh Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company as the investor, with a total capital of 7,300 billion VND, and a construction scale of over 36 hectares. After nearly 7 months of project initiation, the factory has been completed and is ready to go into operation.
In phase 1, the factory has a designed capacity of 300,000 vehicles/year, expected to increase to 600,000 vehicles/year in the following phases. When officially operating, the factory will create jobs for about 6,000 workers, and can expand to 15,000 workers in the following phases.
VinFast Ha Tinh factory focuses on producing two car lines VF 3 and VF 5, with main components such as chassis, engine, electronic components... imported from VinFast Hai Phong factory, while car batteries will be partly supplied by the battery factory right in Vung Ang Economic Zone. Products from VinFast Ha Tinh electric car factory will be supplied to the domestic market and exported to international markets.
VinFast Ha Tinh is the 5th factory serving VinFast's electric car production activities built globally.
By the end of April 2025, VinFast's global retail network will reach 388 stores, including direct distribution stores (DTC) and dealership stores. This year, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer aims to at least double its global vehicle deliveries, focusing on key markets such as Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, North America and Europe, while continuing to evaluate potential markets in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
