The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just issued Decision 3015 on "Food safety control process for fresh durian for export". This is the first time a fruit has its own control mechanism, from cultivation to export.
This process systematizes the requirements for food safety control of fresh durian throughout the entire production chain, including cultivation, harvesting, transportation, storage, packaging and export. Registration, assessment and food safety certification activities for each shipment are also strictly controlled.
The competent authority will manage food safety conditions at establishments participating in the production chain and conduct assessment and certification for each batch of goods. Testing facilities are responsible for analysis to serve the certification.
