Currently, contractors are maintaining more than 80 construction equipment and machines at the construction site; 200 technical staff, machine operators and construction workers continuously; organizing overtime work in many areas to take advantage of favorable weather conditions with the determination to complete the project according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction .
This is a route that is both being exploited and under construction. At the same time, after the merger of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces from July 1, 2025, the intra-provincial traffic volume through this route has increased.
Therefore, based on close coordination with the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, the My Thuan Project Management Board has directed the contractor to adjust the construction schedule and plan in the direction of instead of "rolling" construction horizontally, switching to prioritize the completion of 1 layer of C19 asphalt concrete along the entire route to ensure smooth exploitation and require completion before August 15, 2025, complete all 2 layers of asphalt concrete before August 30, 2025, ensuring the completion of the entire project in September 2025.

The project to renovate and upgrade the Lo Te - Rach Soi route was approved by the Ministry of Transport in Decision No. 1330/QD-BGTVT, dated October 11, 2022, with a total investment of about 750 billion VND.
The 51.5km route passes through Can Tho City and Kien Giang Province (now An Giang Province), upgrading the existing route without further site clearance. The project uses the solution of scraping and recycling the roadbed and reinforcing the 2-layer road surface with asphalt concrete, combined with reinforcing 48 culverts and completing the traffic safety system.

The project started on June 13, 2024 and the completion date according to the contract is September 2025. The project's construction progress to date has reached more than 72% of the contract value, of which 100% of the roadbed recycling has been completed, 45/49km of C19 layer 1 asphalt concrete has been laid (91%), and is expected to be completed along with the reinforcement of 48 culverts on the route before August 15, 2025 to ensure smooth traffic.
Contractors are currently laying 17/49km of asphalt concrete layer 2 (C16), reaching 35% and expected to complete before August 30, 2025. The project will complete the traffic safety system and inaugurate in September 2025, meeting the contract schedule.
