Proposal to increase quarry capacity to solve material source for North-South expressway expansion project, La Son - Hoa Lien section

DNO - The investor of the North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section, requested the People's Committee of Da Nang City to pay attention to increasing the capacity of some quarries in the area so that contractors will soon have enough stone materials for construction, ensuring the project's progress.

On the afternoon of August 4, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board announced the implementation status of the North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section.

The project was cleared for a 4-lane scale from the previous Ho Chi Minh Road project, La Son - Tuy Loan section. At this time, the project only had to clear additional land for some residential roads and extend the drainage canal.

The North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section, has a total length of 65km through Hue city and Da Nang city with a total investment of 3,010.10 billion VND.

The project is invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, started in May 2025 and completed within 240 days from the start date.

Main items include: construction of 50 bridge expansion; excavation and filling of roadbed; construction of crushed stone foundation, crushed stone reinforced with cement; asphalt concrete road surface.

On June 24, the investor coordinated with the design consultant to hand over additional site clearance piles at the site to the Hue City Department of Construction and the Phu Loc District Land Fund Development Center (old) to implement the next steps.

Construction output to date has reached 182.76/2,544.51 billion VND, accounting for 7.2% of contract value.

The cumulative disbursement value up to the end of June 2025 is 450,841/448,666 billion VND (reaching 100.5%). In July 2025, the project disbursed 83,754 billion VND.

The contractor is re-establishing the bridge schedule, ensuring simultaneous construction and minimizing construction during the rainy season. At the same time, 5 field testing stations have been established to serve quality control during construction and 2 joint testing stations.

The project is facing difficulties in the source of stone materials in Da Nang city. The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has requested the Da Nang City People's Committee to pay attention to increasing the capacity of some stone quarries in the area so that contractors can soon have enough stone materials for construction, ensuring the project's progress.
