Will support health insurance payment for people in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong provinces (old)

On July 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that the policy of supporting health insurance payments for people in the Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong (old) areas will continue until a new Resolution replaces it.

Previously, on July 9, SGGP Newspaper published an article titled “People wish to continue to receive health insurance support” reflecting the reality of more than 1,700 voluntary social insurance (SI) participants and more than 52,000 HI participants in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province (old) receiving support for the contribution level that has just expired after merging with Ho Chi Minh City and wishing to continue to receive support for HI participation.

Faced with this situation, the Social Insurance of Region XXVII said that it will continue to pay and support voluntary health insurance and social insurance for groups of subjects supported by local budgets in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Binh Duong province (old). In order to ensure timely benefits for people who are supported to participate in voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance, on July 4, the Social Insurance of Region XXVII sent a document to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on continuing to implement policies to support voluntary health insurance and social insurance for groups of subjects supported by local budgets according to the Resolutions of the People's Councils of Binh Duong province and the People's Councils of Ba Ria Vung Tau province (old) until the expiration of the Resolution or a new Resolution replaces it.

In the old Ba Ria-Vung Tau province , from 2020 to 2024, the People's Council of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province issued 4 Resolutions on support for groups of students studying at educational and training institutions; forces participating in security and order protection; the poor and people aged 65 and over residing in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. Up to now, there are 1,722 people participating in voluntary social insurance, with an amount of VND 2,273,040,000; 52,205 people participating in health insurance, with an amount of VND 32,982,487,200, needing continued financial support to participate.

In Binh Duong province (old), from 2012 to 2024, the Provincial People's Council also issued 2 Resolutions and implemented Decision No. 797/QD-TTg on providing support for target groups, helping tens of thousands of people in Binh Duong province (old) receive great support in participating in voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance.
