Sesko suspected of being 'Hojlund 2.0'

Rene Meulensteen - former assistant coach Sir Alex Ferguson, warned MU that the club is following the same path as Rasmus Hojlund.

Sesko's talent is untested at Old Trafford.

According to The Athletic , MU has the upper hand in the race to sign Benjamin Sesko and has quickly reached a personal agreement. Sesko made a strong impression in the RB Leipzig shirt when scoring 21 goals in all competitions last season. But former assistant Meulensteen is still cautious.

"The deal reminds me of Hojlund. If Sesko scores consistently in the first few games, he could be the answer to MU's attack. But if not, what will happen?", he analyzed: "Sesko has potential, no doubt, but is still young, incomplete and needs time to adapt to a harsh environment like the Premier League. The Bundesliga is very different".

Meulensteen questioned why MU did not consider a more experienced name in the Premier League: "I think of Ollie Watkins, a player who has many similarities with Sesko, but has proven his ability in the tournament. And importantly, he is cheaper. The investment of nearly 80 million pounds for Sesko will become a burden, even at the risk of a heavy loss if he has to sell him at a low price."

In the context of MU rebuilding under coach Ruben Amorim, the striker problem has not been solved yet. Sesko is clearly a bright talent, but it is clear that experts have the right to doubt that MU will make the same mistake as Hojlund.
