On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945 - 2024), this morning, September 4, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Truong Duc Minh Tu presented books by many domestic writers and poets to the "Aspiration for Peace " Reading Room of the Vietnam Writers Association of Quang Tri province.

The number of donated books includes 50 books by many domestic writers and poets, typically: the poetry collection "Returning to Love" by author Truong Hoa Binh, former Politburo member, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government; the epic poem "The Fragrant River of Calamus Grass", the novel "Him Lam Moon" by Chau La Viet; the poetry collection "Flowers of Royal Poinciana in the Schoolyard" by Le Thi May and many other works.

Since the Vietnam Writers Association of Quang Tri province opened the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room (26 Tran Hung Dao, Dong Ha City) in May 2023, many journalists, writers, and poets have visited and donated books.

On June 19, 2024, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Truong Duc Minh Tu visited and presented 30 copies of 3 memoirs: "At the Foot of the Ancient Citadel", "The River of Memories" and "Returning to the Old River Wharf"; presented 10 copies of selected poems by poet Le Thi May, former Editor-in-Chief of Cua Viet Magazine to the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room.

Upon learning this information, many writers and poets such as Truong Hoa Binh, Chau La Viet, Le Thi May... through journalist Truong Duc Minh Tu donated books to the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room, with the desire to add more new works, contributing to making the reading room richer and more diverse in books in many different genres and fields; meeting the needs of readers better and better.

The authors who donated books this time shared that they will continue to donate more of their works in the future to the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room as well as mobilize organizations, individuals, writers and poets inside and outside the province to support more books to serve readers.

Poet Vo Van Luyen, representative of the Vietnam Writers Association of Quang Tri province, said: “The “Aspiration for Peace” reading room currently has more than 3,200 books, of which the association has mobilized more than 2,000 books from many domestic publishers, writers, and poets; the provincial library has transferred more than 1,100 books.

Today, the “Aspiration for Peace” Reading Room received 50 books from writers and poets through journalist Truong Duc Minh Tu. This is a practical action to better meet the needs of readers to participate in activities, exchange, share experiences about culture and literature, connect literary creation, arouse the passion for reading, and contribute to improving knowledge for readers of all ages, especially students. The “Aspiration for Peace” Reading Room thanks the meaningful work of writers, poets as well as journalist Truong Duc Minh Tu.
