Taking place in Istanbul (Türkiye), the Mobile Broadband Global Forum 2024 (MBBF 2024) organized by Huawei on October 30-31 attracted more than 1,000 mobile operators, ecosystem partners and enterprises from multiple industries to discuss business model innovation, industry development, key technology trends in the mobile AI era... The forum aims to promote 5.5G integration and AI smart applications, creating greater synergy value for the mobile industry.
At the forum, Mr. Ken Hu - Huawei's rotating chairman shared: "Looking to the future, AI will change everything. People can use AI anytime, anywhere. Mobile networks and devices play an important role in making that happen. This is like the time when Huawei turned mobile phones and mobile Internet into a popular service globally."
2024 will not only mark the commercialization of 5.5G, but will also witness an unprecedented expansion of AI applications in daily life and work. Globally, more than 3 million AI-integrated applications have been developed, more than the total number of non-AI applications. The commercial deployment of 5.5G networks coincides with the first year of AI application on various devices, which is of great significance, signaling the beginning of the era of mobile AI.
According to Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Business & Services, the era of mobile AI has begun, society will see new ways of interacting with new smart devices and services, and structural changes in transportation patterns. This will bring great opportunities to the mobile industry. Many of the world's leading carriers have verified the capabilities of AI services on 5.5G networks in various real-life scenarios for individuals, families, travel , and enterprises.
“There are two things we can do to seize new opportunities and move towards the era of mobile AI,” said Li Peng. “First, we should prepare the network to support AI, specifically improving network capabilities, especially in terms of bandwidth, latency, and capacity. Second, we can use AI to support the network. For complex networks, AI will help automate operations and maintenance, optimize network performance, and ensure the best user experience.”
