(DN) - On the morning of June 26, the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Dong Nai province organized a Patriotic Emulation Congress to commend good people and good deeds among Catholics in Dong Nai province for the period 2020-2025 with the participation of 125 official delegates who are priests, monks, and lay people representing parishes, sub-chapters, and religious orders in the province.

During the period of 2020-2025, the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee and the Catholic Solidarity Committees of districts and cities have proactively promoted and mobilized Catholics to effectively carry out emulation movements and campaigns. Catholics in the province have actively responded to emulation movements, contributing to socio -economic development, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, cultural lifestyles, and protecting national security with an estimated value of nearly 1.1 trillion VND.

In the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, Catholics not only contribute by participating in economic development but also donate land, voluntarily hand over land, support funding for rural infrastructure construction and welfare projects. With the spirit of living a good life and following the religion, Catholics have promoted charitable and social activities by building houses of gratitude, charity houses, gratitude activities, remembering the source of water, supporting production capital, promoting education, and providing health care. At the same time, Catholics also participate in protecting national security, building cultural life, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, etc.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung acknowledged and commended the important contributions of Catholics in the province's patriotic emulation movement in the 2020-2025 period.

The country is entering a new era, the provincial leaders expect each parish, community, and religious order to have specific projects and activities right in the locality according to the theme launched by the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee. In particular, paying more attention to compatriots living in rural areas, difficult places through the construction of socialized traffic works, helping each other to get rich legitimately, vocational training for young people...

The provincial leaders expect the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee to continue to be a place for religious solidarity, gathering, guiding and encouraging Catholics to join the patriotic emulation movement, contributing to all areas of social life, contributing to building Dong Nai to become increasingly prosperous. At the congress, the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee launched a patriotic emulation movement among Catholics in Dong Nai province for the period 2025-2030; and approved the list of delegates to attend the Central Patriotic Emulation Congress.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 15 collectives and 15 individuals, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee awarded certificates of merit to 20 collectives and 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, living a good life, and upholding religion in the period 2020-2025.
