At the end of March 2024, after Ngọt suddenly announced their disbandment, Thang also spoke up saying that he was having mental health problems and could not continue performing.

Vu Dinh Trong Thang, born in 1995, is the composer and main singer, considered the "soul" of the band Ngọt.
The band Ngọt was founded in 2013 by three members Vu Dinh Trong Thang, Nguyen Hung Nam Anh and Tran Binh Tuan. At first, Ngọt mainly operated underground, playing music in coffee shops in Hanoi .
In 2015, the group added a new member, Phan Viet Hoang, who had just returned from studying abroad. From here, the band Ngọt began to be known to more young people through a series of songs: "Quan diem", "Em dao nay", "Cho toi di theo", "Khong lam gi"...
During more than 10 years of operation, Ngọt released four quality studio albums: "Ngọt", "Ng`bthg", "3", "Gieo" along with notable singles and EPs.
Ngọt Group also organized the live show Ng'bthg in 2017 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
At the 13th Dedication Music Awards in 2018, Ngọt won both nominations for New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year ("Em dao nay").
