Convincing victory over Alcaraz, Sinner becomes 'king' for the first time at Wimbledon

Five weeks after losing at Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner got revenge on Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon on Sunday. This is the fourth Grand Slam title of the Italian player's career. In the first final in London, the world number one won 3-1, the scores were 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Sinner showed impressive form in the final match, especially his powerful serve and tricky backhand. Despite losing the first set, Sinner did not lose his spirit. He played at a very high level in the remaining 3 sets. The world No. 1 completed his service games well and broke a total of 3 service games of Alcaraz in sets 2, 3 and 4 to win the match.

The win ended Sinner's run of five straight defeats to Alcaraz dating back to 2024 and the Spaniard's run of five straight wins in Grand Slam finals. At the awards ceremony, Sinner sent his best wishes to Alcaraz. "I want to start with Carlos. Once again, you had a great tournament. But most of all, thank you for always playing so well," he said.
