Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that traffic congestion and environmental pollution are two major challenges for Hanoi. The main causes are from means of transport, especially vehicles using fossil fuels. A report from the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment shows that transport is identified as the largest source of emissions, accounting for up to 70% of emissions causing urban pollution. Responding to this challenge requires the joint efforts of the whole society.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee assessed that switching to environmentally friendly means of transport, including promoting the use of electric vehicles, will contribute to reducing emissions into the environment, thereby bringing Hanoi closer to the goal of becoming a green and sustainably developed city.
