After losing to China in the semi-finals yesterday (September 5), today the Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the third-place match against Japan with the big goal of winning.

If they win the Bronze medal at the 2023 Asian Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will create a new page in history by also winning a ticket to the World Cup.

Unfortunately, although coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students played with determination and created a tense match of 5 sets, in the end, the victory still belonged to the Japanese women's volleyball team.

The Vietnamese team started off well, winning the first set with a score of 25-21, however in the next two sets with the high efficiency of striker Hawi, Japan won 25-14, 25-21 against Vietnam.

Thanh Thuy and her teammates rose strongly in set 4, winning 25-20 to push the match into the deciding set.

The early stages of the fifth set were a tight affair as the two teams battled for points, but once Hawi returned to the court, she helped Japan show their superiority and march on to a 15-11 victory, winning 3-2 overall and taking the bronze medal.

The Vietnamese volleyball girls deserve praise for what they have shown since the beginning of the tournament.
