Children experience making insect specimens

DNO - On June 25, Duy Tan University, in collaboration with Da Lat University and Da Nang Museum, organized a workshop called "Experience making insect specimens", attracting dozens of children to participate.

Many children and their families came to participate in the activity of making insect specimens at the Da Nang Museum.

The workshop “Insect specimen making experience” is an activity in the series of events “Listen to the sounds of cicadas - Enjoy summer at the museum” at Da Nang Museum, held every Wednesday and Saturday, starting from June 25 and lasting until August 2025.

With this activity, participating children can explore the hidden beauty of the insect world and their important role in nature. In particular, they have the opportunity to learn and experience the process of creating butterfly specimens with the right techniques and keeping their colors intact.

After experiencing making specimens by themselves, the children will receive the results after 3 days of drying. In addition to making butterfly specimens, the children will also discover and learn more about other rare insects such as beetles, cicadas, dragonflies, etc.

This is the first time the insect specimen making experience has been held at the Da Nang Museum, so it has attracted a large number of children to register to participate. At the same time, it is also the first time two higher education institutions have coordinated to organize an activity to introduce the richness and diversity of Vietnamese insects.

Thereby, opening up a valuable opportunity for the public, especially the young generation, to explore the world of insects in our country, to better understand the beauty as well as the meaning and importance of insects in nature.

Experts give detailed instructions to children on how to make a technically correct slide while preserving the colors.

Children participating in the activity will receive specimens to take home as souvenirs after 3 days.

The activity is not only a useful and meaningful playground, but also helps young people discover the hidden beauty of the insect world.
