On September 10, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi (India), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Russia cannot be excluded from the grain deal and no progress is possible if Moscow does not participate in this initiative.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed: "The grain agreement has been extended three times and thanks to this initiative 30 million tons of grain have been delivered to many parts of the world . Without Russia's participation, this agreement would hardly be sustainable."

Mr. Erdogan also announced an upcoming meeting regarding the above agreement between representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations but did not specify the exact time or location.

Earlier, on July 17, Russia refused to continue participating in the grain agreement signed by the parties in 2022 to ensure the safe export of Ukrainian grain across the Black Sea. The agreement also stipulates the facilitation of agricultural and fertilizer exports from Russia.

Moscow explained that the withdrawal from the agreement was due to non-implementation of the part of the agreement related to Russian exports to global markets.

In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly pointed out the fact that most of the grain from Ukraine is shipped to European countries, while according to the agreement it was supposed to go to the poorest countries.

However, Russia said it was ready to continue participating in the agreement only if all obligations related to it were fulfilled.
