Will the weather on the National Day holiday on September 2 be affected by storm Saola?

Storm Saola will hardly cause bad weather on land during the September 2 holiday.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (August 30), the circulation of storm Saola will affect the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea, causing strong winds of level 6. From this afternoon and tonight, it will strengthen to level 7-8, near the center of the storm it will strengthen to level 10-12, then increase to level 13-15, gusting above level 17; waves 6-8m high; rough seas.

From the night of August 30, the northeastern area of the North East Sea will have storms.

Storm Saola is likely to be the third storm to operate in the East Sea in late August and early September 2023. However, the possibility of storm Saola causing strong winds above level 6 and heavy rains in coastal and inland areas of our country is not high.

"The weather during the National Day holiday on September 2nd across the country is basically good, with beautiful sunshine, localized thunderstorms with short duration and ending quickly; the Central region may have mild heat," the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said.

Storm Saola moves into the East Sea in the afternoon and evening of August 30.

On the morning of August 30, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 7:00 a.m., the center of the storm was located at about 20.2 degrees North latitude; 121.1 degrees East longitude, in the sea northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines).

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 15-16, gusting to level 17, moving northwest, about 10-15 km/h.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move to the North-Northwest, at about 10-15 km/h, and enter the East Sea in the afternoon and evening of August 30.

In the next 24-48 hours, the storm will move West Northwest, about 10 km/h; in 48-72 hours, it will move West, about 10m/h.

According to the National Center for Hydrometeorology, along with the activity of storm Saola, there is currently another strong storm in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, about 1,500km east of storm Saola. Storm Haikui is currently at level 10, and it is predicted that there will be interactions between the two storms, causing the paths of the two storms, including storm Saola, to have complicated developments.
