Environmental impact assessment meeting of Component Project 3: Investment in construction of service roads, overpasses, section through Binh Phuoc province under the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project, Western section, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh ( Binh Phuoc )

The investment project to build the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia ( Dak Nong ) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section, is divided into 5 component projects. In which, component project 3 is to invest in building a service road, a flyover, and a section through Binh Phuoc province. The total area of land recovered for site clearance is about 211 hectares. The scale includes: a service road with a total length of more than 95.1km; a flyover at 23 locations; longitudinal and transverse drainage systems; traffic safety systems; other works such as: Roadbed reinforcement, retaining walls. In addition, there are also auxiliary items including: Construction site, camp, operator house, machinery and material staging area, etc. Construction activities of the items will impact the environment.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Mi, Chairman of the Environmental Impact Assessment Council spoke at the meeting.

The opinion of the project's environmental impact assessment council members is that: The scope of the project is large and long-term, so it is necessary to carefully survey the entire route, assess the amount of underground water for project construction, rainfall in each season, environmental sanitation system... to quantify with specific numbers, from which there are accompanying solutions. In addition, it is necessary to assess the amount of soil, rock, filling... to use reasonably, avoiding wasting resources; at the same time, it is necessary to clearly state the location of the camp, near or far from residential areas.

As a result of the vote, 100% of council members agreed to approve the project's environmental impact assessment report, and at the same time requested the consulting unit to urgently edit and supplement it based on opinions at the meeting.
