
In the letter, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the brave and resilient fighting spirit of the Vietnam U23 team at the tournament. Thanks to that, despite the difficulties, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have overcome them excellently to win the U23 Southeast Asian Championship for the third time.
“On behalf of the Government, I would like to send to all the players, coaching staff and service staff the warmest congratulations, along with deep praise and gratitude for their tireless efforts, fair-play spirit, discipline and solidarity for the Vietnamese flag,” wrote Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in his letter.
On the evening of July 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, the U23 Vietnam team defeated U23 Indonesia with the only goal of Cong Phuong. The result helped U23 Vietnam win the championship for the third time.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said this was the result of the talent and courage, the will to rise, the belief in victory as well as the aspiration to conquer the peak of Vietnamese youth. The Prime Minister hoped that this would be the motivation for the team to continue to make more efforts on the journey to conquer greater challenges.
