Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested to speed up the progress of key projects in Quang Tri.

On the afternoon of July 26, during a working trip to Quang Tri province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the field and directed the acceleration of a series of key infrastructure projects in the area.

At the Van Ninh - Cam Lo component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project in the 2021 - 2025 period, with a total investment of more than VND 9,919 billion, the investor reported to the Prime Minister that the main volumes of the project have been basically completed, with only some finishing work remaining such as 3 overpasses, intersections and traffic safety systems. The Prime Minister requested contractors to continue construction in 3 shifts, 4 shifts, "working day, night, and even on holidays", to open the road to traffic and put it into operation on August 19.

The Prime Minister also noted the urgent need to complete the system of rest stops and traffic control centers according to highway standards.

At the Quang Tri Airport project - invested by the consortium of T&T Group and Cienco 4 under the PPP form, starting construction in July 2024 - the Prime Minister directed Quang Tri province and related ministries and branches to study upgrading the airport according to a higher classification of ICAO, taking this airport as the center for research, completing related planning, developing the area between the two rivers Ben Hai and Thach Han according to the "4 in 1" orientation including airport urban area, industrial park, science and technology park and service area.

At the My Thuy Port Project, the Prime Minister requested to speed up the construction progress, while studying the development of a free trade zone and a specialized port in this area. In particular, it is necessary to calculate the possibility of building a railway from My Thuy Port to Lao Bao International Border Gate, connecting with Laos, Thailand and the Trans-Asia Railway Network.

Along with that, be ready to implement the high-speed railway project in the coming time. The Prime Minister also outlined a number of specific timelines for the projects and requested investors to focus all their efforts to reach the finish line on schedule.
