Representatives of leaders of departments and branches of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces; management units of Buôn Tua Srah, Buôn Kuốp and Srêpok 3 reservoirs, along with the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of communes located downstream of hydropower plants attended the Conference.
The conference aims to maintain good disaster prevention and control work, close and effective coordination between units managing and operating hydropower plants with the Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue Command Committees of communes in the two provinces of Dak Lak and Lam Dong in implementing the inter-reservoir operation process on the Srepok river basin.
According to the report at the Conference, in 2024, there will be 10 storms in the East Sea, but none of them will directly affect the basins of hydropower reservoirs in the two provinces of Dak Lak and Lam Dong.
However, in the 2024 flood season, there were several storms causing moderate and heavy rains over a wide area in the Buon Tua Srah, Buon Kuop and Srepok reservoirs, with rainfall higher than the machine flow. Therefore, the Company has complied with the requirements of the inter-reservoir operation process, regulations and coordination plan to ensure compliance with regulations.
In addition, the Company also synchronously implemented measures to respond to natural disasters, regulate reservoirs, and ensure the safety of local people's lives and production. The Company has also improved its apparatus and coordinated the provision of information during flood regulation.
At the Conference, the management and operation unit reported on the results of PCTT - TKCN work in 2024, and proposed directions and tasks for 2025.
Representatives of the communes also raised a number of proposals that need to be resolved to improve the effectiveness of PCTT - TKCN work, minimizing the impact and damage caused by natural disasters. The units discussed and agreed on a coordination plan for 2025.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc, Deputy Director of Buon Kuop Hydropower Company, during the flood season of 2025, the Company signed and coordinated with localities to organize the operation and regulation of reservoirs, ensure the safety of works, comply with the requirements of the inter-reservoir operation process, contribute to flood reduction for downstream areas and ensure power generation efficiency.
The implementation of PCTT – TKCN work is carried out by units according to the principle of “proactive prevention, timely response, urgent and effective recovery” and the 4 on-site motto: “on-site command, on-site forces, on-site means and materials, on-site logistics”. Thereby, helping PCTT – TKCN work in 2025 to always be proactive, limiting damage caused by natural disasters.
