Costume Rental - Dress Well, Save Money

Instead of spending money on expensive clothes that can only be worn once, many young people choose to rent clothes as a way to both dress well and save money. This trend is not only trendy but also reflects a conscious consumer lifestyle.

Instead of spending money on dresses that are only suitable for parties or photo shoots, renting costumes is a convenient and economical solution.

Having been in the costume rental business for nearly 2 years, the owner of Mami Kute fashion store ( Long An ward, Tay Ninh province) Nguyen Thi To Anh said: “In the past, customers mainly rented ao dai, wedding dresses or stage costumes, but now, customer needs are more diverse. Many people come to rent costumes for parties, travel, take souvenir photos, etc. The busiest time is during the summer, holidays, New Year and especially the wedding season.”

Stemming from her passion for fashion and often receiving questions from friends about “where to buy clothes” every time she posts photos on social media, Ms. Anh came up with the idea of opening a costume rental service. Currently, her store owns more than 100 dresses and shirts in a variety of styles, all of which are designed with fabric that stands up to the body and flatters the figure.

“I often prioritize basic, easy-to-match colors like red, white, and black, combined with elegant designs that suit many body types. I often liquidate old models and update new models to keep up with trends,” Ms. Anh shared.

In addition, because the costumes are for rent, she always focuses on cleaning and laundry. Each outfit after use is carefully checked, ensuring it is clean and ready to serve the next customer. Depending on the original price of the product and the time of use, the rental price ranges from 100,000-200,000 VND/set; accessories such as hair clips, handbags, shoes are priced from several tens of thousands of VND/product.

Often choosing to rent clothes instead of buying new ones, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen Tran (27 years old, living in My Loc commune) shared: “In the past, every time there was a party or a special event, I had to struggle to choose clothes, sometimes I bought them and wore them only once and then put them in the closet because they were not suitable for reuse. Since I learned about the costume rental service, I just need to choose a model, try them on and rent them, saving time and not spending too much money.”

With rental prices only a fraction of the cost of buying new, many people consider renting costumes a reasonable choice in a context where spending needs to be carefully calculated. Not only for special occasions such as weddings and events, many people also choose to rent costumes when taking photos or traveling . According to Ms. Phan Yen Nhi (28 years old, living in Tan Long commune), renting costumes is related to her hobby of taking photos and traveling.

“Every time I go out, I want to refresh myself with trendy clothes, but buying a lot of clothes to change styles is expensive and rarely used. Renting clothes helps me freely “live virtual” without worrying about waste,” said Nhi.

Renting clothes not only helps users save money but also provides flexibility in renewing personal style. Instead of spending a lot of money on clothes that are rarely used, renting clothes becomes a reasonable solution, especially for those who love fashion but still want to spend wisely. This is also an option that contributes to promoting sustainable consumption trends in modern society./.
