Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Chien, Deputy Team Leader in charge of the Fire Prevention, Fighting, Rescue and Relief Area of Thuong Tin shared: In the summer, the weather is hot and humid, the ambient temperature is high, so the demand for electrical equipment of people for cooling, refrigeration, serving production and business of production facilities and enterprises increases; the risk of overloading and electrical short circuits can easily lead to fires. Therefore, it is very necessary to strengthen fire prevention measures for people and businesses.
At the hands-on experience, residents, students, and pupils were instructed by the fire prevention, fighting, and rescue police to practice using portable fire extinguishers to extinguish fires caused by gas leaks; practice using gas masks to move and escape in smoky environments; practice spreading fire hoses, practice spraying water; propagate and introduce fire prevention, fighting, and rescue equipment, practice how to use them... Thereby, making everyone aware of the importance of fire prevention and fighting, acquiring basic knowledge about fires and explosions, fire prevention and fighting measures, and handling procedures when a fire or explosion occurs, in order to minimize property damage, contribute to ensuring security and order, and maintaining peace for the community.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Chien said that during this period, the unit also coordinated with production facilities and business units in Thuong Tin district to simultaneously organize fire fighting and rescue drills to raise awareness among the people about fire prevention, improve combat readiness, and coordination between professional fire fighting forces and grassroots forces in the process of handling fire and explosion situations in residential areas, especially in traditional craft villages and businesses.
