In the final match of the Canada Open 2025 - Super 300 level according to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) system in the early morning of July 7, Thuy Linh (22nd in the world ) faced Japanese player Manami Suizu, ranked 35th in the world .

However, Thuy Linh was at a disadvantage against Manami Suizu in the first set and lost 0-2 in the match.

The Vietnamese female tennis player continuously made mistakes, losing 12-21. In the second set, the tennis player born in 1997 started with great effort with a series of 3 consecutive points.

However, she quickly lost the advantage when Suizu leveled the score at 3-3, but mistakes in handling continued to cause Thuy Linh to lose the game. From a score of 9-14, she could not shorten the gap and had to accept defeat 14-21 in this set.

Losing 0-2 in the final, Thuy Linh sadly finished second at the Canada Open 2025. This was a regrettable result as she had an impressive journey to reach the final, something that the number one Vietnamese tennis player had long awaited in the international arena.

Because this year, Linh has been runner-up twice in the Super 300 level tournament and three times in her career. Last March, she achieved a similar result in Germany when she lost to Yeo Jia Min (Singapore) in the final.

At the end of the tournament, Thuy Linh still received 9,120 USD (about 230 million VND) and 5,950 bonus points for being the runner-up.
