Social network X, acquired by billionaire Elon Musk in 2022, suffered a widespread network outage on March 10, mainly on its mobile app, according to The New York Times citing data from the Downdetector website.

The first outage of social network X (formerly known as Twitter) was recorded before 5:00 p.m. on March 10 (Vietnam time), after which both the website and application returned to normal operation.
However, at 8pm that same night, the next network outage occurred and X recorded 41,000 reports of inaccessible accounts. An hour later, X suffered a third network outage, and many users were unable to access the website and applications.
"A large-scale hacking attack was carried out to disable the X network with IP addresses coming from Ukraine," billionaire Musk told Fox News in an interview on the morning of March 11 (Vietnam time).
However, a group of hackers nicknamed Dark Storm took to Telegram on March 10 to claim responsibility for the attack. Cybercriminals sometimes use fake IP addresses to hide their identities while carrying out their plots. Therefore, the investigation team often has difficulty tracing hacker attacks.
