Dr. Doan Van Dong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mechanics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, has just been appointed Associate Professor by the school in 2024. This year, he is also the only person from this school recognized by the State Council of Professors as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor.
Mr. Doan Van Dong is from Son Phu, Huong Son, Ha Tinh .
Mr. Dong received his bachelor's degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering, majoring in electronics and telecommunications from Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport in 2010.
In 2014, he received a master's degree in information and communication systems from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.
Four years later, in 2018, Mr. Doan Van Dong received his PhD in information and communication engineering from Wuhan University of Technology, China.
After graduating from university, Mr. Dong stayed at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport to work and has been there until now.
During 2011-2012, he was a lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Then, from late 2012 to mid-2018, Mr. Dong studied for a master's degree and did research at the Central China University of Science and Technology and Wuhan University of Technology, China.
After receiving his doctorate, he returned to Vietnam to work at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, holding the positions of lecturer, deputy head of faculty, head of training department, and is currently the Deputy Director of the School of Mechanics.
Dr. Doan Van Dong's main research directions include database research for traffic control and research on vehicles and equipment in traffic control.
To date, Dr. Doan Van Dong has guided three graduate students to successfully defend their master's theses. He has also published 32 scientific articles, including 12 articles published in prestigious international journals listed in ISI/Scopus; 2 articles in proceedings of international scientific conferences listed in Scopus.
In particular, Dr. Doan Van Dong is also one of the youngest faces recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor in the field of transportation this year.
In 2024, the only person recognized as Professor in the field of transportation in 2024 is Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Tien Thanh, born in 1976, from Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province, working at the University of Transport.
