Organize "Korean Speaking Contest"

The Korean Embassy in Vietnam (Ambassador Choi Young Sam) organized the "National Korean Speaking Contest - Korean Ambassador Cup" in 2023 with the attention of many students across the country.

The contest follows the success of the “National Korean Speaking Contest - Korean Ambassador Cup” which was first held in 2022 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea.

This year's contest received registrations from 64 units (1 contestant/1 unit) from 27 colleges and universities; 14 King Sejong Academies and 23 secondary and high schools nationwide.

On August 26, the contestants will compete in the regional semi-finals of the "National Korean Speaking Contest - Korean Ambassador Cup 2023" held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The 2022 competition received registrations from a total of 50 units from 27 colleges and universities; 12 King Sejong Academies and 11 middle and high schools).

64 semi-finalists will have the opportunity to demonstrate their Korean language skills through a test with the theme "Vietnamese culture that you want to introduce to your Korean friends".

The 16 outstanding candidates who passed the semi-finals in the North and South regions will compete in the final round of the contest, scheduled to be held on October 20 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The prize for the candidates who won the excellent prize in the major and non-major categories is a 6-month Korean language study abroad course at Ewha Womans University, Korea and a trip to Korea for the candidates who won the excellent prize in the general education category.

This speaking contest is organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, in coordination with the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, the Korean Language Centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the King Sejong Institute Foundation, and sponsored by Ewha Womans University, the Korea Tourism Organization, and Jeju Air.

Mr. Choi Young Sam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam said: “I would like to sincerely thank the efforts and enthusiasm of the team of teachers, lecturers and students of Korean language in Vietnam.

In the future, the Korean government will always try to create an environment that makes it easier for Vietnamese people to access Korean."
