Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh promotes investment, trade and tourism cooperation between Nong Khai province, Thailand and Vietnamese localities

On July 19, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh met and worked with Mr. Somphob Samitasiri, Governor of Nong Khai province, and attended a local cultural event.

Congratulating Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh on his visit and work in Nong Khai, Governor Somphob Samitasiri was pleased to see that the cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Thailand is increasingly developing well and hoped that the Consulate General would coordinate to promote investment, economic , trade and tourism cooperation between Nong Khai province and Vietnam.

Governor Somphob Samitasiri especially commended the important contributions of the Thai-Vietnamese community in Nong Khai province to the socio-economic development and cultural life of the locality in recent times and hoped that the valuable spirit of dedication to the community will continue to be promoted in the future.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed his gratitude to Governor Somphob Samitasiri for taking the time to welcome him despite his busy schedule, showing his concern and good feelings towards Vietnam. Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that the upgrading of Vietnam-Thailand relations to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” has opened a new chapter in the history of relations between the two countries, creating an important foundation and opportunity to enhance cooperation between localities of the two countries.

Nong Khai has an important position as a gateway for trade and transport of goods through Laos, connecting with Vietnam, which is a favorable condition for strengthening cooperation with the central provinces of Vietnam. The Consulate General is ready to coordinate and promote investment, trade and tourism cooperation programs of Nong Khai with localities of Vietnam.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh highly appreciated the Nong Khai provincial government’s attention and favorable policies to support and promote the positive contributions of the Vietnamese expatriate community to the local socio-economic development. Thereby, contributing to fostering the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand and helping to strengthen the relationship between the two peoples.

On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh presented Governor Somphob Samitasiri with the bilingual book "Uncle Ho in Thailand" which was recently released in Thailand.

Governor Somphob Samitasiri emotionally said that he especially respects President Ho Chi Minh , the great leader of the Vietnamese people.

The meeting took place in a sincere, friendly and constructive atmosphere, adding more contents and prospects for positive cooperation between the Consulate General of Vietnam and the Nong Khai provincial government in the coming time.

Previously, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh also joined Governor Somphob Samitasiri in a community cultural activity. In which, the Thai-Vietnamese community proactively contributed and coordinated with Thai people to make 73,000 lanterns for the traditional Thai Lantern Festival (Loy Krathong), scheduled to be held next October. The 73,000 lanterns symbolize the age of the Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn (born in 1952).
