Tottenham scored three times as many goals as their opponents, extending their title hopes. Bournemouth entered the game as the league's most in-form team, with 13 of their last 15 possible points. The visitors showed that by shooting more than 20 times, but only scored once late in the game.

Tottenham, as usual this season, played open football and were no different from their opponents. Therefore, the match took place in an open, high-tempo style. Dangerous chances were continuously created by both teams, along with mistakes. The home team showed that they took advantage of their opportunities better, while making fewer dangerous mistakes.

Tottenham won, but there was still a blemish when midfielder Pape Sarr and Veliz appeared to have suffered serious leg injuries and had to leave the field in tears. Coach Postecoglou will have an additional headache because he has lost many key players in the squad for the same reason.

Sarr opened the scoring after the visitors' goalkeeper Neto misplaced his pass. Lo Celso recovered the ball and passed it to the Senegalese midfielder, with space ahead. Sarr dribbled for a few steps without any of the visitors getting in to defend, allowing him to comfortably enter the penalty area and shoot low across the corner past Neto.
