(NLDO) - The 10th grade entrance exam in 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7, including 3 subjects: Literature, Math, and Foreign Language.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Hieu has just signed a document on selecting the third subject in the 10th grade entrance exam and guiding the criteria for secondary school admission for the 2025-2026 school year.
Grade 10 entrance exam: Takes place on June 6 and 7, 2025 with three subjects: Literature, Math and Foreign Language.
Test time: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject), Foreign Language (90 minutes).
Candidates registering for the entrance exam to specialized high schools in the city must take the fourth subject (specialized subject) with a duration of 150 minutes/subject. Each specialized subject has its own exam according to the secondary school curriculum, the exam content ensures the selection of students with talent in that specialized subject.

For grade 6 admission: Admission method is selection.
Admission criteria: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and some local secondary schools can conduct admission based on a combination of two criteria including training and learning results in primary school years and the results of the capacity assessment survey. In particular, local secondary schools must simultaneously meet two requirements: Having a number of candidates registering exceeding the enrollment quota in recent years and being proposed by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and towns.
The remaining secondary schools conduct admission based on the results of training and learning at the primary level and use data from GIS maps to serve the work of allocating students, in which the admission areas of the schools are decided by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and counties according to the actual situation in the locality.
