A total of 164 restaurants and dining establishments have been honored in four Michelin star award categories for 2024, which have just been announced. The important award categories include Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmand, Michelin Selected and Michelin Guide Special Awards.
Notably, for the first time, Vietnam has a restaurant awarded the Michelin Green Star, aiming to build sustainable cuisine . The Michelin Green Star was awarded to Nen Danang restaurant (Da Nang).
In this year's list, there are 7 restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang that have achieved one Michelin star because of "high quality dishes, worthy of diners stopping to enjoy".
In particular, Michelin Star honors 2 restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Da Nang . Specifically, Akuna restaurant, The Royal Pavilion restaurant (Ho Chi Minh City) and La Maison 1888 restaurant ( Da Nang ).
The remaining four restaurants are the units that continue to be awarded Michelin stars for the second year, including: Anan Saigon, Gia restaurant, Hibana by Koki restaurant of Capella Hanoi hotel and Tam Vi restaurant.
At the event, the Michelin Guide also announced special awards for Young Chef Award, Sommelier Award and Service Award.
The award for wine expert went to Mr. Toan Nguyen from La Maison 1888 restaurant; the award for service quality went to Ms. Anh Nguyen from Si Dining restaurant and the award for talented young chef went to Mr. Duy Nguyen from Little Bear restaurant.
Michelin Guide in Vietnam also announced 99 restaurants and dining establishments in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in the Michelin Selected category (restaurants recommended by Michelin Guide).
In the previous honor in 2023, Vietnam had 4 restaurants awarded 1 Michelin star, specifically 3 units in Hanoi and 1 unit in Ho Chi Minh City.
