TPO - The meteorological and hydrological agency forecasts that the peak tide of the Saigon - Dong Nai river downstream is likely to appear on April 10-11 (ie March 2-3 of the lunar calendar), at 1.45-1.50m (approximately or below BĐ II by 0.05m).

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, water levels at stations downstream of the Saigon - Dong Nai river system are rising rapidly following the high tide in early March of the lunar calendar and are at high levels.

At 7:00 a.m. this morning, April 9, the highest water level of the day at Phu An station (Saigon River) and Nha Be station (Dong Dien River) were both at approximately Alarm Level I (1.4m).

It is forecasted that the water level at stations in the downstream of the Saigon - Dong Nai River will continue to rise in the next 2-3 days, then gradually decrease. The peak tide of this period is likely to appear on April 10-11 (ie March 2-3 of the lunar calendar), at the following levels: Phu An station and Nha Be station at 1.45-1.50m (approximately or below BĐ II 0.05m). The peak tide time is from 4-6am and 5-7pm.

Bien Hoa station is at 1.55-1.60m (about 0.20-0.25m below BĐI), Thu Dau Mot station is at 1.50-1.55m (approximately or 0.05m above BĐII).

Regarding the weather, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that yesterday (April 8), severe heat continued to occur widely in the Eastern region and in some places in the Western region. However, the intensity of the heat generally decreased slightly across the region.

The highest temperature ranges from 35 to 38 degrees, some places above 38 degrees such as Dong Xoai - Binh Phuoc (38.4 degrees).

It is forecasted that in the next 3-5 days, the heat wave in the South will continue to occur widely, especially in the Eastern region with severe heat wave with the highest temperature from 35-39 degrees.
