Implementing the campaign "Ho Chi Minh City residents do not litter on the streets and canals, for a clean city and to reduce flooding" to raise people's awareness, the Ho Chi Minh City Command coordinated with the People's Committee of District 7 to organize tree planting to build landscapes along ponds, lakes, and canals in the district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam said that in 2023, the City Command and District 7 People's Committee coordinated to conduct a general environmental cleaning in District 7.
In 12 days, more than 100 officers and soldiers contributed more than 1,200 working days to coordinate in clearing and cleaning more than 1,200m on 3 canal sections. Contributing to propaganda, raising the sense of responsibility of the community, officers join hands to protect the environment.

According to Lieutenant General Nam, promoting the results achieved from the first time, the Command continued to coordinate with the People's Committee of District 7 to launch a general environmental sanitation campaign with 5 times more participants.
"With determination, fighting spirit, and higher efforts, the goal is to set a model in District 7 and then organize to learn from experience and replicate it in the remaining localities. This activity continues to call on all people to join hands to protect the environment, throw garbage in the right place, and build a city with good quality of life and civilization," he added.
