On the morning of January 25, more than 200 management officials, including leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and 21 districts, principals of public and non-public kindergartens, and owners of private independent classes, participated in the Workshop "Evaluating digital transformation in preschool education management" organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.
Reporting at the workshop, Ms. Ly Thi Suong, Deputy Head of the Preschool Education Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training) said that in the 2023-2024 school year, 316,317 preschool students had their data records digitized on the shared database of the entire industry, accounting for 98.07%. Of which, 97.2% of students had their identification codes updated for all levels of education.
“The nursery sector has the highest identification code update rate at 99.9%, while kindergarten has a rate of 96.8%. For 5-year-old children, the identification code update rate is 97.8%, an increase of more than 11% compared to the previous school year,” said a representative of the Department of Preschool Education.
Similarly, for the team of managers, teachers and staff, there are 48,262 records digitized and managed on the system, accounting for 99.7%. In which, the digital records are fully integrated with information such as job position, training level, salary and allowances, professional assignment for teachers, etc.
The representative of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City affirmed that the database of the whole sector needs to be updated correctly and sufficiently, as a basis for the work of enrolling students at the beginning of the school year. Currently, the identification codes have not been updated for students who are children of foreigners or people with provincial household registration studying at educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City.
Besides the achieved results, according to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, management by digital records is facing difficulties in non-public facilities and classes.
The reasons are that the facilities, network infrastructure, and equipment at facilities and classes are not yet synchronized; the information technology level of managers, teachers, and staff is still limited; the management software is not synchronized and not yet connected to the city's shared data axis.
From now until the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requests educational institutions to complete the management database for all levels of education, promote the effectiveness of digital transformation, complete the update of identification codes for children, and integrate nutritional ration declaration on the shared database axis of the education level.
