Thanh Cam Prison announces amnesty decision in 2024

On the morning of October 1, Thanh Cam Prison, Ministry of Public Security, located in Cam Thanh commune, Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province, held a ceremony to announce the President's decision on amnesty in 2024 for 38 prisoners.

Attending the announcement ceremony were comrade Do Hung Viet, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs , member of the Central Amnesty Advisory Council; representatives of the leadership of the Police Department for Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Facilities, and Reformatory Schools, Ministry of Public Security; representatives of the leadership of functional departments of the Provincial Police, the Provincial People's Procuracy, the People's Court of Thanh Hoa province and the authorities, sectors, and organizations in the area where the unit is stationed.

According to the President's Amnesty Decision No. 957/QD-CTN, Thanh Cam Prison has 38 prisoners who are amnestied this time. These are prisoners who have a good process of reform, training and striving, strictly comply with the prison's rules and regulations; know how to repent for their crimes; have completed additional punishments, civil compensation, court fees... according to the provisions of the law.

The process of preparing documents and organizing the review of amnesty is carried out by relevant units seriously, strictly, objectively, democratically, publicly, and for the right subjects, ensuring the conditions and regulations of the law.

Speaking at the ceremony to announce the President’s decision on amnesty, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet congratulated the prisoners who were granted amnesty this time; and believed that with the lenient policy of the Party and State, along with the support and assistance of local authorities, police and the community, those granted amnesty will overcome all difficulties, confidently integrate into the community, build a stable life and not re-offend.

After receiving the Amnesty Decision, those pardoned at Thanh Cam Prison received ID cards and were arranged transportation to return home to reunite with their families.
