Radar Station 550 is assigned the task of observing and closely controlling the assigned sea area, not to be passive in any situation. The targets of ships and boats operating at sea managed by the unit will be observed, detected, and all activities will be firmly grasped by the officers and staff here through the radar screen to accurately report to the command headquarters at all levels, promptly handling any situation that occurs. The task seems simple, but to observe and firmly grasp the targets of ships and boats operating at sea and on islands requires officers and soldiers of the Station to be trained in a basic, practical, solid, and proficient manner to be able to use and master the radar equipment and weapons in the unit's payroll.

According to Station Chief Cao Xuan Duy, in order to successfully complete the assigned key tasks, he and the Station Command Board unanimously grasped and deployed combat training tasks for each sector and department, organized the drafting and approval of training curriculum, built models and teaching aids; trained the teaching staff and organized training according to the correct schedule, correct and sufficient time and content. During the training process, the unit focused on in-depth training on the content of exploiting and mastering weapons, equipment, radar, especially new generation equipment that was assigned... The Station Commander assigned soldiers who were good at expertise, profession, rich in experience, with many years of work experience to guide, accompany, and train new comrades to the unit with the method of hand-holding and showing them how to do things. This is one of the effective measures to help officers and soldiers of the unit quickly approach, manage, and skillfully use equipment, and perform well the assigned professional tasks.
Colonel Nguyen Huu Hung, Political Commissar of Regiment 351, said: Comrade Cao Xuan Duy is always proactive, actively self-studying, practicing to improve his professional qualifications, skills, and working style, meeting the requirements of the assigned tasks very well. In his position as station chief, Comrade Cao Xuan Duy promotes democracy well, together with the Party Committee and the Station commander, discusses measures to deploy and develop work plans that are close to the requirements of the tasks; unites, closely follows, and cares about the lives of soldiers.
