Before going to China to compete in the 2025 World Games from August 7-17, Tran Quyet Chien will compete in quality domestic tournaments to "warm up".
In the Billiards World Games, the men's 3-cushion carom event only has 12 best players invited and Tran Quyet Chien is the only representative of Vietnam. This is also the 3rd consecutive time he has participated in this tournament, the first time in 2017 (held in Poland) and then in 2022 (in the US).
Tran Quyet Chien is currently ranked 3rd in the world.

Although he is the number 1 player in Vietnam and has been in the top of the world for many years, Quyet Chien's path to winning a medal will not be smooth. The Vietnamese player will face big names such as: current world number 1 Dick Jaspers (Netherlands), current world 3-cushion carom champion Cho Myung-woo, and veteran players such as Tayfun Tasdemir (Türkiye), Jeremy Bury (France), Martin Horn (Germany), Heo Jung-han (Korea), Jiale Qian (China), Sameh Sidhom (Egypt), Luis Martinez (Colombia), Erick Tellez (Costa Rica), Pedro Piedrabuena (USA). Although he has to compete with high-class opponents, Tran Quyet Chien is still one of the bright candidates for the number 1 position of the tournament. The Vietnamese player has the advantage of extensive international competition experience. Besides, most of the above players have directly faced Tran Quyet Chien in tournaments organized by the World Carom Billiards Federation (UMB).
Before leaving for China, Tran Quyet Chien participated in the tournament known as the "World Cup of Vietnamese billiards" - HBSF stage 2 in 2025 organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards Federation. This is a high-quality professional playground, acting as an ideal warm-up step for Vietnam's number 1 player to improve his concentration, regain his competitive spirit and test his form before officially entering the 2025 World Games.
