At a press conference in Beijing on November 5, Colonel Niu Wenbo of the Chinese Air Force Equipment Department said that the J-35A will participate in the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, taking place from November 12-17 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.

According to Mr. Niu, the J-35A is a medium-range stealth fighter, capable of taking on many different roles.

The J-35 fighter jet has long been the subject of analysis by military observers both at home and abroad. With the launch of the J-35A, China will become the second country, after the United States, to possess two types of stealth fighters in service.

According to observers, the J-35 series has several versions, including one for the air force and another for aircraft carriers. The aircraft has a common origin with the FC-31 technology demonstrator prototype, designed by the Shenyang Aircraft Design and Research Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China.

The FC-31 prototype first debuted in October 2012 when it made its maiden flight at that year's Zhuhai Air Show, becoming China's second prototype of a fifth-generation fighter jet, after the J-20.

The China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition is the country's largest arms exhibition and is recognized as one of the world's most important defense events.
