On December 18, the University of Transport held a ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung as the President of the University of Transport for the 2020-2025 term.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung is a former student majoring in road and bridge construction at the University of Transport, and graduated with a master's degree in soft ground engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. In 2005, he graduated with a doctorate from the Moscow State University of Roads, majoring in roads.
He has held many positions such as deputy head of foreign affairs department, head of foreign affairs - science and technology department, deputy director of branch, vice principal and director of branch of the school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training , said that science, technology and international integration have made many strong strides, along with changes in the world political situation, requiring relevant parties to take flexible and appropriate steps.
According to the Deputy Minister, the University of Transport needs to take the lead in scientific research training, preparing high-quality human resources and mastering technology to serve the country's major development programs and plans in the era of national growth.
"The principal plays a particularly important role in the development of a university.
As a manager and an inspiration, the principal not only decides the methods and ways to direct the organization to carry out tasks and build an advanced academic environment, but is also the driving force to promote innovation and improve the quality of training and scientific research," said Mr. Son.
