On the afternoon of July 17, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club officially announced new coach Nguyen Viet Thang for the new 2025-2026 season to replace coach Huynh Quoc Anh whose loan contract from SHB Da Nang Club expired.
On the team's Fanpage, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club wrote: "As a coach who always sets high standards for each training session and always requires seriousness in the approach to the match, Coach Nguyen Viet Thang is the especially important piece that Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club needs in the journey to improve its identity and aim for long-term goals."
In the 2024-2025 First Division, Coach Viet Thang led Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club to the championship with a record of 20 unbeaten matches (19 wins). Including two victories of 1-0 and 3-0 against Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club.

However, after bringing Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club to play in V-League 2025-2026, Coach Viet Thang said goodbye.
The 44-year-old coach then went to Japan to attend the second phase of the professional coach training course (Pro license) of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) with 17 other coaches in the country.
During this time, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club has approached and successfully negotiated with Coach Viet Thang to lead the team in the new season 2025-2026. After completing the second phase of the course in Japan, Coach Viet Thang will start coaching at the Southeast team.
The next new contract of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club is expected to be former U23 Vietnam striker Ho Thanh Minh.
Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC won the runner-up position in the 2024-2025 First Division and a place in the play-off match for promotion. However, coach Huynh Quoc Anh's team lost to SHB Da Nang FC in the play-off match at Thong Nhat Stadium at the end of June.
Missing out on promotion, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club has said goodbye to 13 players and 6 members of the coaching staff.
Instead, this team also brought in 9 new players: Minh Vuong, Xuan Truong, Le Van Son (Hoang Anh Gia Lai), Tran Quang Thinh (Nam Dinh), Thanh Thao (HCMC), Duc Cuong, Thanh Loc (Ninh Binh), Duong Van Khoa, Trong Hieu (Binh Dinh).
