Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week is organized in the direction of linking the value chain of tourism-culture -sports , contributing to affirming the image of an attractive, modern and rich-in-identity destination.
On the morning of December 5, the launching ceremony of the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2024, with the theme "Vivid festival season", was organized by the City Department of Tourism in coordination with other units at the Ben Thanh Market relic area, District 1.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that from 2021, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week will be held annually to attract tourists and build a brand for the city's tourism.
After 3 times of organization, Tourism Week has built its brand with tourists and become an annual event of the City's tourism industry.
The 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2024 alone will have about 80 programs, aiming to stimulate creativity in the tourism industry and create a playground for businesses, travel agencies, organizations, individuals, etc. to come up with new ideas, improve the quality of tourism services, and meet market needs.
In addition, this year's Tourism Week is organized in the direction of linking the value chain of tourism-culture-sports with the coordination of relevant departments, branches, units, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts; at the same time, it is expected to contribute to affirming the image of an attractive, modern and rich-in-identity destination.
Within the framework of the launching ceremony of the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2024, a series of electric car and bicycle parades, tourism exhibitions, and the announcement of the program "Designing a tourism program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification" will take place, aiming to promote cultural and historical values.
This year, the City's tourism industry also applied AR (Augmented Reality) technology to participating programs, aiming at young people or the high-tech loving community through AR quiz games about culture, tourism, history and geography of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in order to promote efficiency and create a festival atmosphere that spreads throughout the Southern region, the City's tourism industry has coordinated with provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and Southeast regions to connect and organize inter-regional tourism stimulus activities at the end of the year to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of Southern tourism with other countries in the region.
For example, connecting the Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta Tourism-Trade Week (from November 29 to December 2, 2024) with the Tourism Week in Long An, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau (from November 28 to December 4, 2024).
Another highlight that cannot be missed in the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2024 is the 7th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, expected to attract more than 17,000 domestic and international athletes.
Or the information space promoting tourism, culture, music, art... will be organized in Thu Duc city and 21 districts throughout the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2024, from December 5-12./.
