German coach Thomas Tuchel vented his anger on Bayern players after losing 0-1 to Werder Bremen in round 18 of the Bundesliga.
"It's our responsibility," Tuchel told his players after the match at the Allianz Arena. "I'm too tired to say we trained well. No one believes that anymore. I've been a coach long enough to judge whether the training sessions are at the level we want. This has been going on for weeks."
The home defeat left Bayern seven points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. After 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles, the Bavarian giants are facing the risk of losing the title for the first time since the 2011-2012 season.

In the Champions League, Bayern easily qualified for the round of 16. But they lacked consistency domestically. After 17 rounds, Bayern lost two and drew two while Leverkusen are in extremely good form with an unbeaten record since the beginning of the season. Recently, there were rumors that Bayern players were dissatisfied with Tuchel before they lost to the 14th-placed team.
Commenting on his players' performance against Bremen, Tuchel said: "It was clearly not good enough. Over 70 minutes, I didn't feel like the team was playing to win. Then there was. We were extremely passive in the first half. The team lost the ball a lot and were counter-attacked many times. We controlled the ball superficially. Bayern deserved to lose this match."
According to Tuchel, the players need to look at themselves because when they sign a contract with Bayern, it means they commit to playing at 100% of their ability. He believes that Bayern play as if the team is leading by 10 points and is saving energy for the Champions League match in the middle of next week.
Bayern will face Union Berlin in their next game on Wednesday in the hope of closing the gap on Leverkusen. Tuchel has called on his team to improve their form. "We have to play better. If you play for Bayern and you play on Sunday, you don't need to be at your peak on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. But especially you have to be at your peak on Sunday. That's what we didn't do. It's clear that the team didn't perform to the required standard," said the 50-year-old coach.
