Recruiting 22 teachers to teach Vietnamese in Laos, salary 18 million VND/month

The selection of Vietnamese teachers and lecturers to teach Vietnamese in Laos is part of the project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of Vietnam - Laos cooperation in the field of education and human resource development for the period 2021-2030".

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) recruited 22 people for a term of 2 school years: 2024-2025 and 2025-2026.

Candidates are teachers, lecturers on the payroll or on long-term contracts of one year or more, currently teaching at high schools, universities, and pedagogical colleges.

Candidates with experience teaching Vietnamese, literature, linguistics, having taught in Laos, and knowing Lao are given priority.

The salary announced by the Ministry of Education and Training is 720 USD/month (about 18.3 million VND). In addition, teachers recruited to teach in Laos will also enjoy benefits such as health insurance and a round-trip air ticket for the entire term. Teachers' summer and Tet holidays will follow Lao regulations.

The Ministry's deadline for receiving application documents is July 20.

Earlier this year, Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong signed an education cooperation plan for 2024.

One of the contents signed is that the two ministries will continue to strengthen the teaching and learning of Vietnamese in Laos.

Laos is considering making Vietnamese an optional foreign language in the national high school graduation exam.

In addition, the contents of the History of the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Special Relations will be taught at educational institutions of the two countries to contribute to promoting and educating the young generation about the tradition of the special relations between the two countries.

Currently, the total number of Lao students studying in Vietnam is about 14,000. In 2023, Vietnam will grant more than 1,000 scholarships to Lao students from high school to postgraduate level, of which the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training will provide 464 scholarships.
